Multidisciplinary Musculoskeletal Care

Multidisciplinary Healthcare

At Brightgreen Spinal Health we offer a range of services to address the root cause(s) of your issue and not just the pain itself. Our services are suitable for people of all ages, as we offer multi-disciplinary care from our expanding team of chiropractors, osteomyologists and sports masseurs. Every new patient will be offered a tailored package of care specific to their medical history, age and aspirations and will be referred to other health professionals where indicated.

Chiropractors are primary contact healthcare professionals, meaning you can see a chiropractor without a referral and we are able to assess your overall health and refer you to other professionals when and if required.

Chiropractors specialise in diagnosing and treating conditions arising from mechanical dysfunction of the joints of the body and their effect on the nervous system. Once a diagnosis has been reached, a management plan will be advised using the best evidence-guided approach for each individual.

Our Osteomyologists are degree qualified in sports science or sports rehabilitation, using a range of disciplines and drawing upon a variety of therapies and techniques including spinal adjusting techniques, corrective exercises, light laser therapy, taping and sports massage to ease pain and suffering with the aim of restoring proper function and to encourage healing.

Fact, we CAN NOT fix everyone with every single condition that there is going. However, we pride ourselves in being able to help people identify what problems that they are experiencing and then refer them to the appropriate specialists to deal with their conditions. Chiropractic or Osteomyology care can help with conditions related to misalignment of the spine. We have massage therapists who work in the centre with us who can help with muscular issues and we have a long list of other highly trained professionals that we can direct you to if we can’t help you. Rest assured that we will NEVER try to deal with a condition which we know we can not help with. If you are unsure if we can help you, just call and book yourself in for a FREE screening appointment to speak with a Chiropractor or Osteomyologist about your problem.

“The treatments themselves do not ‘cure’ the condition, they simply restore the body’s self-healing ability” – Leon Chaitow

Wellness And Wellbeing

Chiropractic may often be used by people in a reactive context, such as after a sports injury, but it can also be used for prevention. A chiropractic adjustment is aimed at restoring movement to restricted joints and correct exercise alongside can maintain healthy movement. Sprinting (running, biking, or rowing machine), lifting heavy things (not too heavy but with lots of repetitions) and functional training, such as body-weight exercises, TRX, battle ropes and slam balls. Movements in exercise that mimic our everyday movements or positively counterbalance them lead to a healthier you.

Post-Injury Recovery

Within your package of care, we can determine what chiropractic adjustments to include plus other treatment (such as rehabilitative exercises, soft tissue work or laser treatment). We will consider the various mechanisms that are likely contributors to your pain or injury (or both) and the compensatory movements you are likely to have made to avoid this.

Sports Performance

Sports people often require chiropractic care reactively, due, for instance, to a sprained knee ligament following a heavy tackle on the rugby, football, or hockey pitch/field. James played rugby and rowed at university. However, reaching and maintaining peak performance is surely the most important aspect of a sports person’s game.

Considering the human body as a whole, rather than as a knee, shoulder or ankle injury, is why chiropractic is arguably the perfect intervention in the maintenance of care. Candice played hockey and netball during her school and university years and last year joined a netball team in her village. To us though, sports are more than organised events, they are part of a happy and joyous family life. We all take part in sports whether that is throwing a frisbee, kayaking, cycling or having a kick about in the back garden. You might not compete at a professional level but your injuries will be just as real.

Come and see us on the Monday if you ‘pull something’ on the Sunday. We urge you to not leave it to self resolve because the pain is there for a reason! When a knee is painful but is fine two weeks later the body has most likely compensated for the interference. Chiropractic is about finding the cause and not just taking the pain away! Of course, better still, come for regular ‘MOT’ check ups to prevent a sports injury in the first place.
